The Journey of the Lotus Flower

This journey represents transcendence from the lowest to higher states of consciousness through divine wisdom.

Beginning its journey in the soil the lotus seed soon muddies clear water through an exudation which feeds off bacterium.

Before long a shoot is produced which grows and expands until it floats as a leaf upon the water whereupon the lotus flower blooms.

At night the flower closes and sinks underwater, at dawn it rises and opens again.

Untouched by the impurity of the muddied water the lotus remains pure and thus symbolises rebirth, the purity of our divine journey and transcendence towards spirit.

According to a Sanskrit Buddhist text the Lalitvistara, “the spirit of the best of men is spotless, like the lotus in the muddy water which does not adhere to it.” Many have adopted this symbolism as representation of our soul. At the heart of humans is the soul – this is where we find our inner self, our cosmic blueprint. Just as the lotus grows up from the mud into an object of great beauty, we too grow and change into more of who we are.

Our soul unfolds like the petals of the lotus awakening into our spiritual life as it springs forth from the Earth to rise and float in the heavenly arms of our spirit. And so … the lotus is a reminder of the miracle of a journey towards beauty, light, and life.

It symbolises the quest to find our place in the world through our soul and our connection to the divine – a place our souls ever search for – a place called … unity with spirit.

Children have a way of refreshing our souls.”

In My Soul

 In  my soul
there is a temple, a shrine, a mosque, a  church
where I kneel.

Prayer should bring us to an altar where no walls or names  exist.

Is there not a region of love where the sovereignty is

illumined nothing,

where ecstasy gets poured into itself
and becomes lost,

where the wing is fully alive
but has no mind or body?

In  my soul
there is a temple, a shrine, a mosque, a  church

that dissolve, that dissolve in God.

Rabia al Basri

Integrity is when the truth of your words match actions.

Authenticity is when you reflect the truth of your soul.

Enlightenment is when authenticity and integrity

are and expression of the soul.
